MARIST STARS ON NATIONAL DUTY

FOR the first time in our Club History our players have dominated the National team (Solomon Islands FIFA World Cup Qualifying squad)
IN total, 14 of our players are called up by the National team (TD)/coach FELIPE Veiga-Arango, 12 of them were included in the Final list.

Solomon Islands national team warm up for June qualifier against PNG Kapuls at Lawson Tama with two friendlies against Fiji coming Friday (26th) and Sunday (28th) as Felipe bids to kick-off new record for Solomon Islands.     

OUR PLAYERS
Philip MANGO (Goal-Keeper)
Our first Choice Keeper, dual International Philip Mango is one of the young talented Goalkeeper representing Solomon Islands in various youth Level U-17, U-20, U-23 and now in senior level. The 21 year old also represented Solomon Islands in FIFA Futsal World cup 2016 in Colombia.

ZantasKABINI (Goal-Keeper)
The very experience 32 year old keeper also made the final cut, his experience could prove to be valuable asset for Felipe Veiga.

Michael BOSO (Centre-Back)
After winning his 4th cap recently in Tahiti last year, the 21 year old lad from Western Province was also included in the final squad for Fiji friendly and June qualifier against PNG. The centre-Back has established himself at the heart of the national team’s defence.

John AETA (Centre-Back)
The national U-17 captain, 16year old Aeta has caught the eyes of Felipe who dubbed him as “special Talent” who can play in La Liga with the incredible talent he poses. Hailed as future of Solomon Islands defence, Young Aeta is a Marist youth Team player yet to be part of Marist senior team.  

Richard HIROMANA (Right-Back)          
Recently joined Marist from Real Kakamora, Richard is a consistent performer a right-back for the nationl side for the first time, he is one of the uncapped player included in the final squad.     

Robert LAUA (Left-Back)
The 25 year old is a multi-talented player representing Solomon Islands in various codes, Beach Soccer World Cup, Futsal World Cup, and now on 11 aside world Cup qualifier. Robert Laua is a natural Left winger recently deployed as Marist second choice Left-back has now established himself as Felipe’s first Choice Left-back in the national team.

Henry FA’ARODO (Central Midfield)
Captain, leader, legend, Recently joined Marist from Western United FC. Solomon Islands national team captain Henry Fa’arodo is the key influential figure in the squad. The 34year old veteran is Solomon Islands most capped player (50 caps).

Jeffery BULE (Defensive Midfield)
The 25year old holding midfielder is in fine form, he was the heart of Marist midfield in the recent OFC champions league, young but experience, has been part of the national side since 2010.   

Thomas AMASIA (Central Midfield)
Young Marist Midfielder 18year old Thomas is also part of the 23-men squad, he is one of the new players included hoping to make his first start in the national team.               

Timothy BAKALE (attacking midfield) 
The in-form 22year old attacking midfielder who can also play central will be hoping to take his good form into the national team on Thursday’s and Sunday’s friendly.

Atkin KAUA (Left-Midfield)
The 21 year old attacker is one of rare talent Solomon Islands has ever produced. Atkin can play in any attacking position and has the ability to deliver from any angle.

Mathias IAN (Centre Forward)
The young dynamic centre forward has emerged as fine forward in the national team. The 23year old made his debut as a substitute last year in a friendly against New Caledonia.
